About Me

I am a longtime resident of Ketchikan and the Executive Director for Women In Safe Homes, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing support services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault and their families.

​

I am a trustee serving on the Alaska Mental Health Trust board. I have been on the board of directors for First Bank for close to 20 years.

​

I have a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Santa Clara University, and spent the early part of my career in the aerospace industry.

Community Funding

  • Secured millions of dollars worth of grant funding for Southern Southeast Alaska.

​

  • Funded mental health counselors in Ketchikan and Metlakatla schools.

​

  • Funded a civil legal assistance program to assist victims and their families with escape violence.

​

  • Established a Community Services Program that provides parent coaching, parenting classes, family and individual counseling, and support for at risk families.

Infrastructure Developement

  • Established Elinore's Place, a child advocacy center in Ketchikan.

​

  • Partnered with the City of Ketchikan to renovate the former Ketchikan Regional Youth Facility into an emergency shelter for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and their families.

​

  • Partnered with the Ketchikan Gateway Borough to convert a former shelter building into a Community Services facility.

​

  • Secured funding for the City of Ketchikan to renovate the former water warehouse building.

Safer Communities

  • Obtained training funding for regional law enforcement agencies to assist with officer development and retention.

​

  • Secured funding that moved over a hundred homeless individuals and families into safe and stable housing.

​

  • Established a food distribution program that serves over 50 families each month.
